This is a distorted self-portrait (magnified up close to the face.) I chose to distort my facial features by drawing my nose rather large and my lips rather small. This is down in ink.

Still Life -- Four Values
This is my four-value monochrome still life. It has the same composition as the other two, and the medium is marker.
Still Life -- Three Values
This still life is the same composition as the first, but instead of just black and white, it uses black, white, and grey. The medium is charcoal.
Still Life -- Black and White
This is my black and white still life of a wheel and a gumball machine w/o its glass globe thing. The focus is on using value to represent shape rather than using lines.

Illustration Friday - Ferocious
For Illustration Friday Ferocious, I illustrated three characters from the television show, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast -- the Beast, Maggie, and Hamilton. The background is intentionally blurred text.
Illustration Friday - Stripes
For Illustration Friday Stripes I used the theme of a zebra. This piece is made of two layered pages-- one showing the shape of the zebra in oil pastels and the other cut with an x-acto knife in a striped pattern.

Social/Political Issue with Self-Portrait
The social issue I chose for this project is the persecution of Christians. The background is made of news articles from the website persecution.com, the website on an organization which supports Christians facing persecution for their faith. The self-portrait aspect is a packing-tape transfer of a photograph of myself.
